Yesterday the students brought blankets to school to build forts and explore the topic of Perimeter! The perimeter is the total distance around a 2-dimensional shape. To explore perimeter we took blankets from home and measured the length and width. We used the formula below:
After we finished with Math, we built forts and spent a little time enjoying the fruits of our labor!
P = L + L + W + W
Once we figured out the length of one side, and the width of the other, we plugged those numbers into our formula and added to find the perimeter!
